Martino Superiore Petit Verdot

Variety: 100% Petit Verdot.
Vineyard location: Barrancas, Maipú, Mendoza. Altitude: 720 meters above sea level
Soil type: Loam with pebbles. Alluvial
Irrigation: Trickle irrigation
Harvest: Manual.
Date of harvest: Second half of March.
Yield: 80 quintals per hectare
Aging: 24 months in french oak barrels of first use.

Selection of bunches and grains. Cold maceration for 4 days, in this stage
two daily manual Pigeages are carried out. After this cold maceration, the fermentation is conducted by indigenous yeasts at a temperature of between 26 to 28oC for 8 days. 3 daily overpumping are made until half of the alcoholic fermamentation, once reached this stage 2 daily overpumping until the 0oBe. luego 2 diarios hasta los 0oBe. Once the alcoholic fermentation is over a post- fermentative maceration is carried out during 8 days. In the pressing the drop wine is separated from the press wine.

Tasting Notes

This wine has an intense red color with deep black tones. The notes of red fruits, plums and blackberries combined with the aromas of caramel, vanilla and mocha provided by aging in wood result in great aromatic complexity. Large volume, very fatty and meaty. Present and well balanced acidity that provides good mouthfeel.

Serving Temperature

18 – 20 oC.
Alc. 14,2% – Total Acidity: 5.5 G/l – pH: 3.7
